Voyage

The Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge is Nautical Nonsense. Anything nautical related can be your inspiration.
I interpreted the challenge as an opportunity to pull out my brand new DarkRoom Door Sail Away set.

I smeared the surface of a  map from an old Atlas with a touch of white paint. I stamped the images using Ranger Archival ink onto the dried map. I highlighted the image with a touch of color using watercolor pencils and waterbrush.
I decided to add a touch of hemp with metal findings. The edges were distressed and mounted on a kraft cardbase.

Products: DarkRoom Door Sail AwayStampers Anonymous Classics #1, Hemp, Prima Junkyard Jean Findings, Waterbrush, Brad, Distressing Tool, White Acrylic Paint

Come play along with us at  Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge for a chance to win a $50 Gift voucher from  Simon Says Stamp.

  2. Fabulous masculine card Suzz, I absolutely love how you use a map in the backdrop and toned it down with a wash of white. I love the natural twine at the bottom, which adds a wonderful nautical touch too especially with those metal pieces along the bottom. Love the compass which sits perfectly in the backdrop and the focal image is very striking, love it. Tracy x x

  3. Suzz...I love your idea of using a white washed map as a background. That looks so cool! Your Darkroom Door ship is such a cool stamp! Love it in black on top of the white washed background. The addition of the twine really gives nice dimension and adds to the nautical theme beautifully. The compass really finishes off your nautical them perfectly. <3 Candy
